The Citizens Anonymous Project aims to build a true, decentralized digital democracy. We believe Web3 infrastructure, particularly secure and user-owned identity, is fundamental to shifting power from centralized institutions back to verified individuals. Our goal is to enable a **one-person, one-vote** system for meaningful governance.
The Onboarding Challenge
A major hurdle for Web3 adoption is the complexity of wallet creation and management. Requiring users to handle seed phrases, buy cryptocurrency, and understand gas fees creates significant friction, especially for those new to the space. To achieve mass adoption for the Citizens Universe, we need an onboarding process as simple as any Web2 application.
The Solution: thirdweb Smart Wallets
Our application leverages thirdweb's powerful infrastructure to create a seamless bridge between familiar Web2 interactions (like email login and Stripe payments) and the decentralized world of Web3. This involves two key components working together:
1. In-App Wallets (The Web2 Login Component)
This provides a familiar login while securely generating a self-custodial wallet behind the scenes.

This completely eliminates the need for new users to deal with seed phrases or buying ETH just to get started.
